The term youth workers is deliberately vague, since this career is chosen by people of extremely varied backgrounds, experience, and education, and so it should be. The job is too significant to our society's future to allow one category of professional or paraprofessional to be labeled as the experts and the rest as the followers. This book is for those who face daily the enormous problems of extremely disturbed youths.
